Fitness Facility Opens — Shape Up for Summer

With spring arriving tomorrow, summer can’t be far behind — bringing its shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, and variety of swim fashions. If you’ve been postponing your fitness program, now’s the perfect time to start again with the opening of the Christy Street fitness center.

A full range of fitness equipment

Check it out in Building 42840! Access is via a code pad on the door. Once you’re inside, you’ll find a treadmill, elliptical machine, recumbent bicycle, and another cross-training machine. Plus, there’s cable crossover strength-training equipment, and several medicine balls.

Do you like to catch up on the latest business news or enjoy a little TV while you’re working out? Then, you’ll love the facility’s large flat screen television.

And to ensure your clients and co-workers won’t be overwhelmed by your “aura” of healthiness when you return to the office, there are separate men’s and women’s showers. With the fitness facility now open, you and your employees can get a good workout in and get back to business in less time.

Although it may seem like this wet winter will never end, spring — with its warm sunny days — isn’t far away. Once the weather improves, the contractor handling the $2 million renovation on the buildings, can finish the exterior work — including the parking lot — and then it will be time for the grand re-opening of Fremont Business Park at Christy Street.

So put this date on your calendar now…Thursday, April 22nd, starting at around 11:00 a.m., for the official ribbon-cutting ceremonies.

The invite list includes: Fremont city officials, representatives from the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the local press, Christy Street tenants, and prospective tenants. That should make it a good business-networking opportunity for everyone.

Take a Quick Run Down to the Fitness Facility

Although the Christy Street fitness center should be completed well before the ribbon-cutting for the complex, we’ll also hold the fitness facility’s official opening on April 22nd. Juan Torres, of Torres Fitness Training, will be on hand to demonstrate the proper use of the equipment and free weights. Juan is well known in the Bay Area, working with both prominent athletes such as Troy Tulowitzki of the Colorado Rockies, and many business men and women — as well as youth athletes.

Be sure to enter the drawing for a free fitness evaluation and personal training session with Juan. It’s a great prize if your New Year’s resolution for 2010 is to get into better shape. And look for periodic additions to this blog from Juan about fitness topics as the year goes on.

The metallic awnings that will help dress up the building’s exterior should be installed by week’s end. Again, thanks for your patience during the renovation.

It’s Groundhog Day, and it was hard to decide whether to hope the groundhog saw his shadow today, or not. On the one hand, no one really likes the rain and cold. On the other hand, our reservoirs aren’t full yet — so six more weeks of winter probably wouldn’t be a bad thing. Well, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning, so zip up your coat — winter’s not over yet…

At Fremont Business Park at Christy Street — winter or not — we’re certainly not hibernating. Another new tenant moved in last weekend.

Final Inspection Approvals Open Door to Tenant Move-Ins

Tuesday January 19th was a big day. City inspectors were here, and we are happy to report that we received final approvals of the interior construction to-date — which opened the door to our tenants to start moving in.

Even as the rain pelted the Bay Area, LNT Business Solutions arrived and began to get settled in their new digs in Building 42840, Suite 234. The company now has 423 sf of space to spread out in — making it easier to provide all its services: tax, bookkeeping and payroll, and notary and loan-signing; graphic design and printing; and even immigration services.

You can expect to see three more businesses moving in soon:

•  Ontara Corporation, which provides outsourced IT and accounting services, is moving from 592 sf in Building 42808 to 1,165 sf in Building 42840, Suite 243

•  Rapid Freight Solutions — a cargo and freight solutions broker — is moving within Building 42840, from Suite 208 into 829 sf of space in Suite 239

•  E-Infotek Solutions is a global solutions provider of systems integration, sourcing and consulting services. The company has taken 1,172 sf of space in Building 42840, Suite 223.

Rain Not Dampening the Leasing Activity
With the weather we’ve had this past week — trees falling and freeways under water — you’d think leasing activity would have come to a standstill. But maybe 2010 is going to be a strong year of economic recovery, because client calls are definitely up — with lots of small businesses interested in seeing the new space available in Fremont Business Park at Christy Street. The New Year is a time for resolutions. By far, the most popular resolution is to lose weight and get fitter. Fremont Business Park at Christy Street will be ready to help with that with a new fitness facility set to open in just a few weeks.

This week, Project Manager Tony Gonzalez met with design consultants, who will have a space plan completed for the fitness facility in a few weeks — with construction to begin as soon as the plan is approved.

The gym will be located next to the leasing office in Building 42840 and have a healthy variety of fitness equipment, including a tread, a weight bench with free weights, mirrored wall with bar, and more. (See rendering.) More importantly, there will be men’s and women’s showers — so even if your employees decide to dash in for a quick workout before meeting with a client, they can quickly freshen up afterwards. People who enjoy riding their bicycle to work at Fremont Business Park, or like to jog when the weather is nice, will also appreciate the showers in the fitness facility.

Construction Activity Is Continuing
The fitness facility is just one aspect of the extensive renovation currently underway at Fremont Business Park at Christy Street — with building entryways also a work-in-progress at this point.
