Okay, DiscoveRx has been headquartered at Fremont Business Park for a while. Located in Christy’s 42501 Albrae building, DiscoveRx has renewed its lease and expanded to occupy approximately 27,000 sq. ft.

The innovative company develops, makes and commercializes reagents, complete assay kits and turnkey solutions that speed the drug discovery process. DiscoveRx’s biochemical and cell-based assays enable drug development firms to significantly improve their research productivity and effectiveness – shortening the long timelines in the industry.

MATHESON (formerly Matheson Tri-Gas)
MATHESON provides industrial, welding and safety supplies; medical, specialty and electronic gases; gas-handling equipment; high-performance purification systems; engineering and gas management services; and on-site gas generation. MATHESON is a subsidiary of Nippon Sanso Corporation, one of the top five suppliers of industrial, specialty and electronic gases in the world.

Vignani will soon be moving into 1,291 sq. ft. of space in 42808 Christy. The firm is an engineering services company focused on enabling capital equipment companies – especially those in the semiconductor equipment and instrument sectors – to better leverage needed capabilities at lower costs in India.

CEO Kumar Ramachandran says that Vignani draws upon the experience of its top executives, who set up the offshore development center for the largest semiconductor equipment manufacturer in the industry. All offshore manufacturing is performed in India by Vignani Technologies.

Goodbye Anna, Welcome Lee

Change is good. It keeps us all energized and young. With the changing of the season from summer to fall comes a changing of the guard at Fremont Business Park at Christy Street.

Anna Mcquillan Rose, who has made Christy Street her second home working with so many of the new businesses that have joined this dynamic community over the past year, has accepted a position as Director of Sales and Leasing at Club Auto Sport – which offers car condos and a dynamic business and event center in San Jose.

TEAM Club Auto Sport actually preceded the formation of the sister business-acceleration TEAMs here at Christy Street and at Junction Office Center office condos in San Jose. So Anna isn’t leaving the Borelli family – she’s just tackling a new opportunity to build Club Auto Sport’s business center into an even more vibrant business community than it already is.

In Anna’s place, Lee Jatta will be the Borelli broker working to fill the remaining spaces at Fremont Business Park. Lee looks forward to meeting many of you at TEAM Christy functions and as he tours potential tenants through the property. Be sure to say hi and introduce yourself.

“Facebook in Business: A Tutorial” at TEAM Christy Luncheon on Thursday, September 23rd

Facebook began in 2004 as an intriguing idea by an imaginative Harvard student to create an online resource for connecting students at the university. It soon expanded to other schools, then to the general population. Lately businesses have discovered Facebook as a new tool to connect with loyal “fans” and reach out to potential prospects.

Today, Facebook has more than 400 million active users. More than half of those users log onto Facebook every day. That’s 200 million potential customers. So when you ask yourself whether your business should be involved with Facebook, the answer has to be “yes”.
